How do crystals work?

Crystals work on energy vibrations; like radio frequencies they all have a different tune or vibration.

Quartz crystal is used in watches and radios

A quartz crystal is an oscillator – it receives, transmits, and stores energy. Perfect energy.

Quartz is used in a watch because it oscillates at an absolutely perfect rate. And this energy is pure energy.

Our new LCD screens rely on crystals to function.

The energy emanating from a quartz crystal, when held in your hand, is not like the energy in the light bulbs in your house or from the nuclear power plant. The energy of the crystal is direct from nature and pure as nature intended it.

 
From a clairvoyant point of view, I have seen crystals do some amazing things. I was visited by a friend one day who very proudly brought an amethyst geode to show me.

 When I held it I saw a plant, and started drawing leaves, they laughed and told me that it had been sitting next to a pot plant with leaves like that. To me this proved that crystals react and absorb feelings and images.

 
The next feeling I got from it was this beautiful little nature angel or fairy type spirit being.

 Since then I have drawn many similar little nature angels for lots of different crystals.

I believe that these little angels work in conjunction with the crystal to help and heal us.

They are very loving, caring spirit beings that have beautiful spiritual energy.

 

The best advice I can give you is, just relax pick the crystal that looks or feels right, as it will be the right one for you.

Cleansing / Charging / Preparing Crystals

Many people begin their relationship with a new crystal by cleansing it first.

 
Cleansing can also be performed at any time to refresh the crystal, clear it of any residual unwanted negative energies, and “re-charge” it.

I was given some scared Indian Crystals that had been used in ceremonies.

I asked my guides and angels to clear only what needed to be cleared and to leave the positive spiritual energies. These crystals are so finely tuned that they even stimulate plants to grow.

At times you may find crystals or stones that you also feel the same way about.

Or you may find a stone along the way, and when you bring it back home with you, you would like to preserve it in its natural state, so you can enjoy it and “re-experience” that time.

This is a wonderful way to enjoy crystals, if you are in any doubt, ask your guides and angels to help.

Methods of cleansing crystals

Water is a universal cleanser.

 If you have access to the ocean, ocean water is wonderful. If not, spring water, lake water, and filtered water can also work well, as long as the water is either directly from nature or clean (filtered properly.)

Some people also add salt to their water, because of its electric properties.

You can simply rinse the crystal in water, or you can follow up by placing the crystal in a clear glass filled with water. Place the glass on your windowsill, ideally facing the south, to charge in the sun.

 
Never use hot water.

Angels breath crystal cleanser works well.

There are some crystals that are very fragile and water may damage them take this into account when cleaning your crystals.

The Moon and Sun can also be used for charging.

Some people make a ritual of burying their crystal under a full moon, to take advantage of the magnetic forces of the moon in combination with the earth.

You may also place your crystal in the direct light of the moon.

Some crystal ball users will leave their crystal balls out in nature, for a full lunar month, this charges them beautifully.

If you need crystals for magical purposes you may want to try this.

Another method is smudging the crystal with sage, or incense.

You can also cleanse and charge your crystal with other crystals use citrine, kyanite and selenite for this purpose

Citrine in particular is excellent for cleansing the other crystals in your collection. It is one of only two crystals that is automatically self-cleansing, and will cleanse other crystals.

The other is Kyanite, which is also extremely helpful in chakra alignment.

Selenite raises the vibration of a space and crystals around it

A crystal can be placed on a large crystal cluster or generator to energize the crystal
 

How to Program a Crystal

The energy pattern programmed into the crystal can be any thought, colour, emotion, sound, or any other vibration.

 

 In metaphysical terms, programming a crystal is to store an energy pattern in a crystal.

 
The vibrational pattern is stored in the crystal until it is purposefully cleared out.

This is one way to program a crystal so that you or someone else can benefit later from the energy pattern programmed into it.

If you have a different method you prefer, use it. I don't believe there is only one way to do it, but rather many, and you should choose the one(s) that suit you best.
 

Things you Need to Program Your Crystal:

· Crystal

· Clear Intent - Know what you want to program the crystal to do.

· Focused Action - This method is one focused action.

• Step One
  – cleanse your crystal with whatever method you prefer, and sit down with your crystal at your personal altar, or in a place that you're not likely to be disturbed while you are programming your crystal.

• Step Two - Hold the crystal in your dominant hand (right hand if right handed) and clear your mind of unrelated thoughts. Start to focus on your intention for the programming of your crystal.

• Step Three - Focus on your intention for your crystal by saying descriptive words aloud. Or write them down, so they become a solid and purposeful.

For instance, if you want to program your crystal to bring peace of mind, start repeating the words "peace of mind" over and over again.

A whisper is fine if a normal tone of voice would attract unwanted attention from others.
 

• Step Four – Ask your guides and angels to help you

• Step Five - Continue holding the crystal and repeating your intention until it feels as though the vibrations have sunk into the crystal fully.

Once your intuition tells you or you have a sense that the crystal has accepted the vibrations, open your hands and thank the crystal and your angels.

The crystal is now programmed.

This method can also be used with tumbled stones, spheres, polished crystals, and natural chunks of minerals, as well as natural crystals.

To retrieve and use the programming, simply rub the crystal while asking (silently or out loud) for its programming to be released.


One of my favourite methods of programming is applying magically made oil to the crystal of choice. I make these for clients depending on needs.


The oil and crystal are very dependant of what the crystal is needed for.

The most popular combinations are:

Amethyst and protection oil

Great for kids nightmares, psychic attack and headaches

Rose quartz and love oil

Great for mending a broken heart, attracting love, helping with pain

Citrine and money oil

Great for attracting money and getting rid of bills
